Canada Post Partners with Magento to Boost E-commerce Growth in Canada

Canada Post today announced an agreement with Magento, a global e-commerce retail platform provider.

The partnership will see the two companies integrate services and create a “superior, more convenient online shopping experience from shipping and delivery to returns.” According to the agreement, Magento merchants will now have access to Canada Post’s retail network and customer-centric shipping and delivery features.

“Canada Post is taking another step to push e-commerce forward in Canada,” says René Desmarais, senior vice-president of parcels at Canada Post. “By integrating with leading retail platform providers, we are enabling retailers to offer the most convenient end-to-end online shopping experience in a seamless manner.”

Key features of the Magento integration include the ability to set accurate customer expectations with precise expected delivery dates; tracking orders directly from the merchant’s online store; self-service return labels from the online store to simplify the return process; and automated order fulfillment by printing shipping labels directly within Magento.

“E-commerce is booming in Canada,” affirms Ryan Thompson, Director of Partnerships for X.commerce and Magento. “Our relationship with Canada Post can better enhance the Canadian consumer’s online shopping experience with Magento functionality and convenient, flexible and efficient delivery options from Canada Post.”
