I recently got a load of 600GB Fiber Channel drives (in HP caddies), sadly the enclosure did not come with them. Any idea what hardware to get to be able to use them for anything?
I know they are low capacity for today’s needs, but I like to play with weird and unusual hardware just because I can. I’ve done some research, even found some cheap 16 drive EMC enclosures but it turns out they will only work as part of a whole system (needs proprietary EMC storage processors, their proprietary software etc). Any ideas on what hardware to get to use Fiber Channel drives in a home lab?
I already have a Qlogic controller in one of my servers, as well as fiber hookup wires. Ideally I’d like some advice before I start randomly buying stuff on eBay.
