I’m in strange waters here:
I lost an ios phone with a whatsapp account on it’s number. I dont have a backup for various reasons. Right now I have access to everything from a desktop whatsapp web interface because of whatsapp multi device architecture.
But if my lost phone will be down for 14 consecutive days (so i’m told) I’ll be logged out and loose everything, the same thing will happen if I link my phone number to a new sim card on a new phone. All my chat history will be lost (again as far as I was told till now).
Since I now have stable access to my whatsapp data, is there a way to create a restorable backup of my whatsapp chat history using whatsapp web? the desktop app? a replacement phone with a different number? some other crazy idea?
