Edge logs me out of everything windows-native on close (or open?)

I switched over from chromium to edge recently and now whenever I launch edge, or perhaps when I close it, it logs me out of everything windows related. In particular there are 3 specimen: edge and everything related to it (plus it also deletes all cookies for all websites), microsoft teams (and I assume the entire office365, but I didn’t check), and the built-in mail app, which errors out all of my gmail accounts and prompts to relog in.

What I have tried and it didn’t help:

• Turning the sync off, removing the user, adding it again, turning the sync on

• Checking and unchecking all of the items in the edge’s Privacy, search, and services / Clear browsing data on close menu. All of the items there are unchecked

• Updating windows, updating edge, updating the mail app, updating the office. All of them are up to date

• Resetting the settings in edge and syncing them back

• Resetting the settings in edge and setting everything back manually

It logs me out of everything in any of these 2 scenarios: edge was closed for some time and then I opened it; the pc was off for some time and then I turned it on, and, subsequently, edge as well

I am at a complete loss as to what to do with all of this and why it does this
