Gorilla Group Joins Magento Certification Advisory Board, Announces Developer Certifications

Gorilla Group, an award-winning commerce service provider, has announced that two members of their leadership team have joined the Magento Certification Advisory Board. Additionally, the company announced nine members of their development team have passed the initial round of the Magento front-end certification examination. This achievement brings the company’s total number of Magento Certified developers to thirty-five (35), further establishing Gorilla Group’s leading position within the Magento ecosystem.
Joining the Magento Certification Advisory Board are Bryan Herhold, Front-End Development Lead, and Justin Finnegan, Chief Operating Officer at Gorilla Group. “Serving on the Advisory Board has been a great opportunity to share our knowledge and help shape the direction of the Magento certification program,” said Herhold.
The Advisory Board was created by Magento to bring together subject matter experts from across the global Magento community to establish measurable criteria that demonstrates platform expertise. Bryan and Justin worked over a period of months with others on the Advisory Board to create a blueprint for the newly established front-end certification examination, audit and modify proposed test questions, and to write new questions for the exam. This resulted in the beta release of the front-end certification examination.
In addition to the Advisory Board appointments, a select number of Gorilla Group developers were invited to take part in the initial round of front-end certification exams. Nine team members officially passed the inaugural exam. This brings Gorilla Group’s total number of Magento front-end and back-end certifications to nearly three dozen, adding to the industry’s largest team of certified developers. This number will continue to grow as part of the company’s ongoing staff development program, which calls for full Magento Certification across its entire development team within the coming year.
