Have a macbook touchpad behave the same as on windows laptops?

After decades, I’m back using a Macbook for our band’s laptop (the probably more stable solution).

Besides finding my way around, I noticed there seems to be no option to restrict the clickable area of the touchpad. On my Windows laptop I disable all touchpad options for any touchy-clicky stuff with one ore more fingers, and handle it like a mouse: Only if I really click a touchpad button, it’s a click, everything else disabled.

Now with a Macbook Pro (2017) I notice I can’t do that… any click anywhere on that huge touchpad is a click. Can I restrict it to the lower strip of the touchpad?
