How can I prevent my sound mixer from resetting volume for a certain program?

I use a program with sounds built in for every minute action, and no way to disable them. I can turn the volume for the program to 0 in the sound mixer, and it works fine for that session, but when I open the program again, the mixer for it resets to 100. How can I make this program permanently set at 0 without unplugging the audio hardware for my computer? I use Windows 10.

(This is technically a clone of Windows 10 volume mixer remember my settings? but that didn’t get any answers)
