I write in Google Docs, and frequently type a colon followed by a newline. As of 2022, typing colon summon Google Doc’s emoji pallet , which interferes with the flow of writing. How do I prevent the emoji pallet from popping up?
I’ve tried using AdBlockPlus to prevent the specific popup from appearing, without success yet. If I find the specific elements that reliably let me write smoothly, I’ll put it in as an answer below.
I’ve put in a feature request in Google Docs to be able to turn off the emoji pallet, without much expectation.
