How to enable pagination in the Firefox reader view?

In my view, this is a single feature that the reader view would benefit from most — this mode uses the “continuous”, “scrollable” text layout, which many active readers likely find troublesome with longer articles: write-ups are frequently cut off mid-paragraph and mid-image when navigating with the Page Up / Page Down keys, and one tends to momentarily lose track of progress when reaching the tail end of a piece.

I prefer pages when reading anything on a computer. For reference, see the view modes in Koreader and Foliate.

There certainly doesn’t appear to be a native configuration option for the reader view page layout, and I haven’t encountered an add-on promising such functionality either, unfortunately.

One method to somewhat resolve the issue is to print the reader view pages in PDF, but this is very far from seamless.
