How to reference the level number in different style for multilevel list in MS Word?

I’m looking for a way of referencing previous level number but in different numbering format. I need this function for Chinese documents but let me explain it in English environment for ease.

For example, my first level is numberred as A, B, C…, and the second level being 1.1, 1.2, 2.1, 2.2 etc., instead of by default it has to be A.1, A.2, B.1, B.2.

I know I can reference it by “Include level number from”, but it’s not allowing me to change the numbering style from ABC to 123.

TL;DR

In Chinese environment, my article should have chapters numberred as 第一章, 第二章, 第三章, etc, which literally means Chapter 1, Chapter 2…, 一、二、三 are Chinese characters for numbers 1, 2, 3. This is ideally my “Heading 1” style for automatic numbering and I can do it with no problem.

However, for “Heading 2”, I cannot use 一.1, 二.1 etc, and it must use the numberical style like 1.1, 2.1, as the guideline strictly stated. I currently only can manualy do it, as I’ve tried for a long time to find an automatic solution with no success.

Also, it seems not possible to select multilevel numbering by modifying format directly in “Managing styles” dialog box, as if I go Modify Style > Format (lower left corner) > Numbering, it only gives single level numbering but not multilevel list. I can do it by manually selecting a multilevel list while editing the document body and apply a modification to the style, but it seems causing issues sometimes. Is there any better way for doing this?

I am using Office 2019 on Windows. Thanks in advance!
