Hyva Theme Currency Switcher not Working

I have set up multiple currencies in a fresh Magento 2.4.8 installation using the Hyvä theme via Stores > Configuration > General > Currency Setup. The currency switcher is displaying correctly in the Hyvä footer. However, when I try to switch the currency using the switcher, it throws the following error in the browser console:

Could you please help me understand why this error is occurring in a fresh Hyvä theme setup?
