Here is an example of the type of chart I’m trying to make. I’d like to visually show the count of studies in a given status, and have it be proportional so I can quickly see potential areas of focus. For example, I have Critical, High, and Medium Priority studies. If 40% of studies in the Critical Priority group are “At Risk/Delayed”, then I can see that proportion called out.
A stacked bar chart is one way to do this, but would my version also be relevant? Is it possible to do this in Excel or PPT or is there a visualization reason why people don’t display it like this?
I’m trying to make it easy for someone to edit quarter after quarter, and the difficult part is making the size of the status rows proportional to the count (e.g., if you have 3 total studies and 2 are active, 1 is on track, it would cover 67% and 33% respectively). The user would plug the numbers into a standard matrix to create the chart. Ideally I’d like to embed this into PowerPoint.
