I build a computer setup. My goal is gaming/VR/upgrade potential. Specs are here.
I tried to stick to MSI components to keep the style for acceptable price (not sure how this solution is good).
I am 99% sure about CPU and GPU, but not sure about other components. Especially storage. Never worked with SSD before. So I don’t know if it’s OK to buy one big SSD or it better to split the storage between SSD and HDD. Case, Power, Memory, Cooler, Monitor and Speakers are also a subject to discuss.
I want to know if there any significant adjustments in terms of
- Same performance/features/style/reliability with lower price or
- Higher performance/features/style/reliability with the same price.
FAQ:
-
Why not GeForce RTX?
Well, as I know real-time RTX is relatively raw for now.
AMD solution much cheaper and performance is not much lower.
Also I read before that RTX support might be activated on 5700XT on drivers level later. -
Why not Ryzen?
Despite Ryzen provides PCIe 4.0 (not sure how much this affects overall performance) and it is cheaper, Intel provides visible performance advantage.
Also virtualization and overclocking is a big question for Ryzen, but I need it sometimes and have
experience on Intel already.
Also Intel consumes less power.
