I have a Dell Optiplex 990. It really has some good specs like a SSD, i5 2500 and 8gb of RAM.
My problem is that the system is really really slow when booting from an USB flash drive to install Windows or Linux created with Ventoy.
It hangs for a few minutes before the installation start as well. After that the process goes a lot faster. I have the default BIOS settings, UEFI.
The only thing I changed is the controller mode to AHCI from RAID on. I really don’t know what the system is doing, why is doing that. Any ideas what is happening?
