I have a Redragon Brahma K586 Pro optical mechanical keyboard. The O key has started acting up in a very perplexing way:
When it is assembled in the normal way, gently touching the O key without causing a full actuation causes a ] keypress to be detected. If I press the key fully, then the O comes into play, and if I keep it held down, both keys are considered held (so in a text field it will write “o]o]o]o]o]o”)
At first I thought this could be some lint or whatever in the board, so I disassembled the keyboard to clean it. There were no visible debree. I started poking at it, removing keycaps of both keys involved (O and ]), still nothing visible. So I fully disassembled the whole thing, such that the actual circuit board and the steel board were separate. Still nothing visibly wrong.
Tried removing the key switches from the ] key and pressing O, still observed same behaviour. Tried swapping the O‘s key switche with other keys, still the same behaviour.
Then I tried taking a loose keyswitch and just placing it over the circuit board, lo and behold, the O key was correctly pressed without activating ]!
But as soon as I put the switch back in the board and place the board over the circuits, the wrong behaviour returns.
I have reassembled the keyboard and left the computer on overnight, and I came back to a bajillion ]s on my lock screen, so it seems to be activating itself, being so sensitive.
I also tried factory-resetting the keyboard in case this was a weird software bug, but no luck.

What could be going wrong here?
I have fixed for now this at the OS-level for now by using a macro program to replace O+] with just O, but that’s silly, and doesn’t work before the login screen.
