Syncfusion Adds 800 Free Metro Icons To Metro Studio 2

Windows components player Syncfusion has released Metro Studio 2, a free-to-members utility that contains more than 1,700 vector-based customizable Metro icons.

NOTE: Originally released in May of 2012, Metro Studio 2 is a collection of customizable Metro-style icon templates. To date, it has been downloaded over 22,000 times. All the icons you create are royalty-free, even for commercial applications.

Syncfusion’s latest iteration of Metro Studio 2 features the ability to customize and export multiple icons at the same time. There are also icon sprites for web developers and the ability to copy icons to the clipboard to facilitate integration with Microsoft Office applications. There is also serialized icon customization for manipulation at a later time and the ability to customize text as icon shapes.

The release of these 800 additional new icons corresponds to the firm’s “Technology Resource Portal” free e-books channel. Syncfusion’s “Succinctly” series of e-books range from 50-100 pages and can be read on a Kindle or downloaded as a PDF. The most popular e-books to date are:

  • jQuery Succinctly by Cody Lindley: Conveys the concepts essential to intermediate and advanced jQuery development.
  • HTTP Succinctly by Scott Allen: Explains HTTP from a developer’s perspective.
