I use a USB-A DAC for headphones on my laptop. Occasionally, a port will stop outputting audio signal to the DAC. The DAC stays connected to the laptop, as it still shows up as a device on windows and the screen on the DAC remains functional.
Current Fix:
Device Manager –> Universal Serial Bus Controllers
Uninstall Intel (R) USB 3.20 eXtensible Host Controller -1.20 (Microsoft)
Restart Laptop to complete uninstall, during reboot the Host Controller is reinstalled.
Laptop Model: Acer Predator PHN16-71
OS: Microsoft Windows 11 Version 24H2 (OS Build 26100.7462)
Headset/DAC: Steelseries Arctis Nova Pro Wireless with included DAC.
I have tried with and without Sonar installed, and updating the firmware through there. No applications have the permission to take exclusive control over the audio devices. USB selective suspend has been disabled. All USB, Thunderbolt, CPU, GPU, Audio drivers have been reinstalled. Ran DISM. Seems to happen after waking the device from sleep mode or after starting it up from the powered down state, doesn’t typically happen while the DAC is actively in use.
Unable to find any fixes thus far and was hoping that someone more knowledgeable that I may be able to help.
