I recently got a Behringer U-Phoria UMC1820, and I can’t get it to work fully in Linux Mint: The 2 inputs on the front work as expected, but the 6 inputs on the back are not working at all.
The interface is detecting input from the microphone, but Linux Mint is not. I’ve tried hitting the 1-8 monitor button (the default is 1-2) but nothing. I also tried using the interface in a VM to see if there was something wrong with my Linux Mint installation, but it has the same behavior and functionality in the VM as well.
It works just fine in Windows, and I also have tried a second UMB1820 and have the same issue, so I don’t think it’s hardware. I was doing some research, and there seems to be something related to jack and alsamixer, but I have been unsuccessful in getting anything related to those to work. I feel like it should just work out of the box, but I’m not sure what the issue could be.
Any suggestions? Has anyone run into this before with this interface or a similar one?
