I just downloaded Internet Download Manager 6.42 Build 35. I have Windows 11 22H2 and Chrome Browser updated to latest.
After installation of IDM, it simply does not integrate into Chrome. Upon checking the Options I notice that I need to Enable Advanced Browser Integration option. Sad thing is after I check that option, IDM does something on its own for a few seconds and then throws an error.
What I tried so far but that did not work
- Full uninstall and reinstall IDM
- Revert to a previous Restore Point and tried the entire procedure
- Ran IDM installer as Admin
- Followed all steps at This Link and This Link and This Link
- Manually installed the .crx file, it gets installed but does nothing!
I am not too sure what more can I try. I think something is not correct on my Windows 11.
I tried the same setup in a VM and it works flawlessly!!
Any further troubleshooting steps would be great to know.

I tried booting Windows with Clean Boot option. Did not help. I still get the same error when I try Advanced browser integration.

Reinstalling chrome (Full uninstall and clean install) did not help
If I did not mention before, clicking Google Chrome throws and error that one needs to enable Advanced Browser Integration for it to work, and it unchecks itself afterwards.
Running app as admin did not change anything.
