Our system process still involves KMS activate for most devices. We are not using Microsoft accounts to license assignment to organization-owned devices. For a certain class of system our scripts will further use the ospp.vbs script still included with the most recent (2024) non-365 MS Office installation to apply a MAK and activate the system.
However, the most recent 24H2 feature release for Windows 11 now also comes with vbscript disabled (or, rather, not included at all).
This leaves us stuck for those systems, with no way to apply the correct license key without manually loading Office.
Of course, one option is just adding vbscript back. This isn’t hard. But vbscript was excluded for a reason, and I’d like to avoid that.
So what is the supported way post 24H2 to script license and activation for MS Office?
