I have used Fedora KDE for 13 years now and really love it, but for several years it has had some problems I’ve just become used to, until today when it got worse, and now I need to fix it.
The problem is that occasionally the menus stop responding. Nothing happens when I left click or right click on the menu. Nothing.
Until today I was able to “fix” the problem by running this:
killall plasmashell && kstart plasmashell
But beginning today that no longer solves the problem, and instead I’m getting this error message:
qt.qpa.services: Failed to register with host portal
QDBusError(“org.freedesktop.portal.Error.Failed”, “Could not register
app ID: App info not found for ‘org.kde.kstart'”)
How do I fix the root problem of the menus not responding once and for all?
