I sometimes get this “running out of disk space” message (this screenshot from someone else on the web):
And when I go to settings, I find the message:
Websites are currently using 17,179,869,184 GB of disk space
Sometimes it’s instead 17,179,869,183 GB (last digit “3” instead of “4”)
Since I do not have 17.2 million terabytes of space (and many others have reported the same problem), it’s probable that this is a bug. I also have a decent amount of space (47 GB) on the drive on which Firefox is installed and runs, so I don’t know why Firefox would keep saying it’s “running out of disk space”.
Closing Firefox and restarting it usually helps.
But then this bug keeps popping up again and Firefox is slow.
I do NOT want to have to clear all of my cookies (which I believe would make me then have to sign in again to all websites, again give permissions for cookies on every site due to the annoying EU GDPR thing, etc.—I might be mistaken in this belief, in which case please let me know).
Is there any other somewhat permanent fix (besides just restarting Firefox whenever I get this problem)?
