Freezes and FPS drops in a supposedly low-requirement game, what should I do?

There is a game called Valorant, here are its system requirements. The thing is, my FPS drops and jumps in the range of 40 to 130, but what bothers me most are the freezes—the game stutters every now and then. What could be causing this? Could it be related to RAM? Or maybe there’s a way to configure the power plan? Right now, I’m using the Balanced power plan (since it gives more FPS), because on High Performance it’s even worse—it freezes literally every 2 seconds. I understand that I’m on a laptop and thermal throttling/overheating is possible, but is there any way to fix this?
