I am trying to provide a technological fix for a user training problem.
These users have limited desk space, so they will connect their laptops to a dock so they can use external monitors. These laptops will have their lid’s closed.
When they step away from their desk, and or, when they undock their laptops {while still actively logged in} I can open their laptop lid and have access to their accounts.
The simplest solution is to train people but that works as well as teaching a cat to make me a burger. What would be the best way to lock the computer when the dock is removed.
Closing the lid does lock the computer. The issue is with the lid closed, you can log into the computer. (This is how the users use the laptops at their desks)
The problem is, while the computer is still logged in, with the lid closed, you can remove the laptop from the dock, the laptop does not lock. I can take the laptop, open the lid and have full access to the account.
