I run into this issue a few days back, while gaming the screen would randomly flash with broken pixels.
Problem Description:
I recorded the issues in these videos [WARNING: flashing light might cause seizure]

This weird flickering/flashing only happens when I play games, such as Insurgency Sandstorm, Risk of Rain 2, Genshin Impact, and New World. The first 3 games show similar behavior, while New World would just straight up crashes.
When I don’t play games, both screens behave normally. When I start turning on a game: either it loads and weird flashing/flickering will begin, or it crashes. (Curiously enough, League of Legends is the only title so far that is not affected).
System Information
I’m using a GTX 1080 with a Ryzen 1600, 16GB of RAM, Windows 10 Pro, duo monitors setup.
What I’ve tried
Here is what I’ve attempted (though none work so far):
- Installing a clean copy of Windows 10
- Update Nvidia Driver to the newest version
- Update Windows 10 to the newest build
- Switching DVD-I to HDMI on the monitor
- Switch to a different monitor
- Only use 1 monitor at a time
What I will try in the future
- Changing out my HDMI/DVI cable
- Do a thorough cleaning on my GPU
- Put this GPU in another computer and see if the exact issue persists.
Hopefully, I don’t have to replace my GPU, as right now the GPU price is just insane.
Any idea/help is highly appreciated!
