I have an Ubiquiti Cloud Gateway Max router with built in UniFi controller.
When I start the game Rust, it starts pinging the servers used by the game to get the state.
Steam settings are 5000 pings per minute (allegedly).
My issue is that the router seems to completely disconnect from WAN and starts sending “Internet disconnected” alerts in the UniFi console the moment the game is launched and the pings start.
The disconnection lasts 1-4 minutes. I checked the NAT table of the router and it is not fully utilized (2k out of 13k). Same goes with CPU usage of the router, 50% max on all cores right before the disconnection.
It may be flooding protection that is enabled on the router. I have IDP/IPS disabled and don’t see any other options.
My ISP told me that they are not blocking the traffic and they do not observe disconnections from their side (there is an GPON box between my router and their fiber input).
Does anyone have any idea why is this hapenning?
My TP-Link (Archer C6) was not doing this.
