With Thunderbird online, if I send an email using the web browser with the mail provider’s (provider is “GMX”) web front end, this message automatically appears almost instantly in the Sent folder of my IMAP account in Thunderbird and is stored permanently (confirmed by shutting TB down and subsequently identifying the message including its textual content in the mbox file of the Sent folder).
I am wondering how it is that the message is being downloaded while When getting new messages for this account, always check this folder is not toggled (see below). What is technically meant with “getting new messages” exactly here? I mean it in a sense of, is it whenever Thunderbird sends a request to the mail server (like according to Check for new messages every 10 minutes, see below) only, for instance?
