Around two weeks ago the screen saver just stopped being activated. I have always used the screen saver that came with the PC.
I had chosen this theme: Mystify (Wait 10 Mins)
No mouse moving software installed.
Monitor is an old standard no-frills flat-screen monitor.
Computer: Dell Optiplex 780, Windows 7, desktop PC, 32-bit.
Attempted Fixes
I tried the following and nothing helped.
- Restarted the PC.
- Changed the Screen Saver theme.
- Changed the Screen Saver wait time.
- Changed the Sleep time.
- Disabled and then enabled screen saver.
- Did a System Restore.
- Downloaded lasted update from Norton Anti-Virus and ran a full system scan.
Alternate Options
If there is no way to revive the computer’s screen saver is there a safe downloadable free or cheap screen saver that I can use (without being bombarded with ads in the future)?
Or can I manually cause the computer’s screen saver to activate at will by clicking a desktop icon?
