Wi-Fi USB Adapter works for basic Browse but blocks sensitive apps (Google Apps Script, Chrome login) on multiple PCs

Problem:
I’m experiencing a persistent issue where my internet connection, when provided by a Wi-Fi USB adapter (stick), seems unstable or incompatible with certain sensitive applications, specifically Google Apps Script and seamless Google Chrome login.

When using a Wi-Fi stick (tested on 2 different PCs with 2 different sticks), Google Apps Script execution gets blocked with “Application Blocked” / “Unexpected Error” messages, and Chrome frequently displays a “not logged in” status despite being technically signed in.

Crucial Diagnostic Findings:

  1. Google Account is NOT the issue: My primary Google account works perfectly fine for Apps Script execution and seamless Chrome login when tested on a different computer using a WIRED Ethernet internet connection. This confirms the Google account itself is healthy.

  2. The problem is with any Wi-Fi stick connection:

    • Original PC with original Wi-Fi stick: Script blocked, Chrome login buggy.
    • Third PC with a different Wi-Fi stick: Script also blocked.

This leads me to conclude the issue is definitively related to the stability or nature of the Wi-Fi stick connection itself, making it unreliable for Google’s sensitive services.

Troubleshooting Steps Performed (on original PC’s Wi-Fi stick and generally):

  • Tested the Wi-Fi stick in different USB ports.
  • Attempted to update Wi-Fi stick drivers (encountered difficulty finding the device in Device Manager despite it providing internet).
    • (Details: When looking in Device Manager, the stick is not clearly listed, or appears generically. I’ve tried unplugging/replugging, looking for yellow exclamation marks, and checking “Other devices”. Even after disabling/enabling network adapters in “Network Connections” window, its specific name is hard to pinpoint in Device Manager).
  • Reset network settings on the original PC.
  • Performed full Chrome reinstallation on the original PC (uninstall, manual folder deletion, reinstall).
  • Temporarily disabled antivirus/firewall on the original PC.

My goal is to either:
a) Resolve the instability/incompatibility of the Wi-Fi stick connection itself.
b) Understand why Wi-Fi stick connections behave this way with Google’s sensitive services.
