I recently bought a zosi dvr camera system 1AR-08VN00-US. And I want to connect it to internet so that I can view it on my mobile device. But it does not connect to the internet.
I have a Comtrend AR-5381u router with 4 ports. I know for sure that port 4 is properly functioning because when I connect my pc in it I have internet.
When I insert the ethernet cable from the Zosi in port 4. I does not work.
How do I make it work.
My camera technician says that my port doesn’t have the right configuration.
I went to my internet provider and they said that all ports (4x) are burnt and I need to buy a whole new router (mind you it is more than a average months salary).
I called customer support of my internet provider for second opinion and they said I need to have a static IP adres. Only than the Zosi will work.
I am not a technician and don’t understand the lingo. So I am trying to do my research so I don’t get ripped off.
My questions:
- Why can I just not use port 4 like I plug in my pc? Is it not the same IP adres?
- What is an static IP adress? What kind of IP adress do I have (when connecting to pc)?
- What Can I do? Should I buy a splitter and use it in port 4, will it help?
- Is there a way I can open a new port or static ip adress myself?
- What kind of troubleshooting can I do more?
