I have a 40″ VIZIO V405-G9 TV that I use as an external monitor with my 2018 MacBook Pro on Mojave.
My only real complaint is that there doesn’t seem to be a way to have it wake up when I plug it in. I have to use the remote to turn the TV on unlike when I had an actual computer monitor that I was using that would automatically wake up.
The other small annoyance (which may be related to it not being a real computer monitor) is that the “Display Connected: Mirror Displays | Extend Displays” TouchBar interface comes up every time I plug it in and has to be closed before I can use the ESC key. Hoping I can get that to stop as well.
