My laptop GPU is rtx 3060 that features a total of 3840 cores which surprisingly is 256 more than what a desktop rtx 3060 GPU has:
In the BIOS I have the option to choose the number of active CPU cores and it is known that less cores imply less heat generation.
I was thinking about reducing the number of active cores on the GPU for the purpose of heat management but I could not find the option to do that in the Nvidia control panel:
As you can see, what is selected is “All” but it doesn’t allow me to input the number of cores to be active.
Is there a way I could turn off / disable some 256 cores on the GPU? That way, I match the number of cores on a desktop GPU (not the important part) and reduce heat generation.
