Can you decipher the meaning of this motherboard manual’s note about a BIOS setting for PCIe slot settings (PCIe RAID Mode)?

I am considering upgrading my current machine by purchasing a new motherboard and CPU. I am specifically looking into this Asus Prime X570 Pro Motherboard (paired with a 5950X). I would be bringing along my Nvidia 3090 and three M.2 PCIe Gen 4 SSDs. Given this motherboard supports PCIe bifurcation I would like to setup a RAID0 array for my boot drive across two of my existing SSDs using this Asus Hyper M.2 x16 Gen 4 Expansion Card.

Reading the support FAQ for the expansion card it looks like I can install the graphics card in PCIEX16_1 and obtain 16 PCIe lanes direct from the CPU (?). Further, I would then install 2 of the SSDs into the expansion card and install the card into PCIEX16_2 and obtain 4/4 lanes from the PCH (?).

Reading the owner’s manual for the motherboard it looks like I could then install the final SSD into M.2_1 and obtain 4 PCIe lanes direct from the CPU (?). Leaving me with 8 PCIe PCH lanes.

My question is directly related to this excerpt in the owner’s manual for the motherboard.

I specifically don’t understand the implications of this sentence.

Installing other devices when using PCIe RAID Mode may cause your PC to fail to boot up.

Does this mean installing other devices in this slot when PCIe RAID Mode is turned on is an issue or installing other devices in any slot is an issues?
