I have disassemble and reassembled a fully functioning Dell Latitude E5450 to replace a part of the case.
After the first reassembly, it turned on and showed me a shell asking me if I want to continue or do some diagnostics. That is when I realised that I forgot to reconnect the keyboard.
The laptop didn’t turn off using the power button. I opened it and disconnected the battery to power it off and access the keyboard connector.
I reconnected the keyboard and battery and now the laptop doesn’t power on anymore. No lights come on at all.
Is it possible that I short circuited something by disconnecting the battery while the laptop was on? How can I diagnose what happened?
