Ethernet ceased to work after installing Linux on dual boot

I have used Windows 10 for a very long time.
I tried to add a Linux distribution (here Mint) in dual boot.
I did it smoothly, with no BIOS manipulation (from my side, at least), but the Ethernet ceased to work after this.
I did not try to fix the problem on Linux, but I did spend a lot of time on Windows, implementing all the suggestions from the Windows support:

  • I run the network troubleshooter, which said that the cable was not connected.
  • I checked the cable (I tested it on another computer).
  • I checked the router/modem (tested on another computer too).
  • I run all the commands suggested.
  • I uninstalled/reinstalled the Ethernet drivers (and rebooted several times).
  • Reset the network.

Here is what I observed:

  • Windows still says that the cable is not connected.
  • No light (nor blinking) on the Ethernet card.
  • Wifi is working.
  • The installed BIOS seems the most recent one.

Other information

  • Ethernet card: Realtek PCIe GbE Family Controller
  • Mainboard: ASUS P50AD Rev X.0x
  • BIOS: AMI 0302 09/19/2014

What are my options now?
