Why is a Bluetooth headset not detected as input on Windows 11?

I have a user that uses a Beats Bluetooth-connected headset and the OS only detects the device as an output and not as an input.

So far I’ve removed and reinstalled the device from Device Manager multiple times, and have re-paired the device. Each time the device only shows up as an input and not output, I’ve gone into Bluetooth settings > more Bluetooth settings and have also tried toggling telephony service off and on and no difference is made.

I’ve also tried rolling back the Bluetooth driver and still no input/microphone detected for the device. The device is known good and connects as both input and output to other devices without issues.

I’ve also tried logging into the machine using separate user accounts but the issue persists.

Any other tips to try?
