Best way to crack/remove an ATA password from a HDD without losing data? [duplicate]

I’m looking for advice on the best way to remove (if it’s even possible) or to crack an ATA password (bruteforce, dictionary attack etc) since I’ve got an old HDD from many years back that’s protected with it that I’ve forgotten the password for, please advise further.
